About Amanda Valdes

Miami native Amanda Valdes, is a mainstay on the South Florida art scene. Her iconic macabre style is instantly recognizable and has made an impact on art collectors globally. Valdes’ art focuses on the female identity, primarily drawing inspiration from the depths of her imagination ranging from characters inspired by historical figures to fashion icons and close friends.

Her iconic dolls share a common trait in that none of them are drawn with pupils, creating an even deeper mystery into “the windows of the soul”. These eyeless sirens lure the viewer into the mind of each illustration allowing the audience tocreate their own hypothesis for who these characters are and what they and the artist are feeling as they gaze into the void.

Valdes works in mixed media, usually on canvas, but her work as a street artist has allowed her the freedom to create large-scale murals on city walls across the country and abroad. She has been awarded multiple honors, and her artwork has been featured in numerous publications. Valdes is currently collaborating with Montce Swim, designing and illustrating textiles for swimwear collections.

Valdes attended Florida Atlantic University and the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where she studied Fine Art. She has had several solo exhibitions, and is continually showing her work worldwide. In addition to her exhibitions, Valdes has collaborated with brands like Ford Motors, HGTV, Miami Dolphins, Warner Brothers, DC Comics, Macy’s and more.
